Scanning
Our VIDAR scanner is the best in it's class. Limitations with regard to
document width are an issue of the past, thanks to the VIDAR Latitude sheet-fed
color scanner. The new Latitude scanner is capable of accepting documents
up to 54" wide for a scan area of 52". The Latitude's feed tray
is designed to easily accommodate and manage extra large documents to avoid
cutting them to fit the scanner. The ability to scan thick documents
greatly enhances the Latitude's range of possible scanning applications from
small and thin sheets up to oversized, mounted originals. Designed for
use in Scan-to-File or direct copy environments, the VIDAR Latitude 54"
wide scanner is your ideal solution for maximum flexibility.
Scanning a printed document creates an electronic image. That image is
merely a pattern of black and white pixels, which performs as a “digital
photography” that interpolates the document content as computer data.
This Raster image can be saved in a variety of electronic formats, most
typically a *.tif file format.
